Best Mobile Apps are usually the one’s which are FREE

Many times we find ourselves in a situation where we want a quality mobile application and look for the same in Mobile application stores. While searching for them we look for the paid ones as we believe them to be better and the ones with more features. But on the contrary market researches show that most of the best rated and highly useful apps are the ones which are free.

What makes free apps such a favorite among users (Apart from the reason that they are free :-)  ) ??

The fact is that free apps are being used by masses and with masses you get mass suggestions. Yes most suggestions might not be feasible and some might be useless but between these not very useful comments you also find some very nice features few of which can be app changers. Thus for free apps its not just a group of people who is driving the features and product, you have millions of users who are practically using your app and helping you make your app better than the competition.
Our advice
From the next time do not overlook the free applications as they will definitely save you some bucks but may also give you better results and features.

Managing Your Customers with CRM

Customers want better products, better service and lower prices.

Customers are the basis of just about any business. So do we collect data and information related to them? Do we address their queries in time and serve them properly? There are many issues linked to our customers that need to be addressed appropriately. The Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution will help us to manage such problems.
A business system that provided greater insight into its billing mechanism. The company integrated its back end processes with billing and customer service. The firm didn’t realize this very feature would eventually be called CRM. In fact, CRM was relatively unknown these days. But in just a year, it became the buzzword of the industry. Vantive, Clarify and Siebel were the leading names in CRM, not necessarily in that order.
Vantive was known as a Customers Asset Management System.
Siebel was known for its Sales Force Automation solution.
Clarify was the best in class support solution.
Understanding and anticipating the needs of customers is a key objective of most businesses. In order to accomplish this, it is important to have a very strong CRM. However, CRM does not mean software application. It is all about processes. Today, these are over a dozen choices for CRM software. But the key to a successful CRM project is the mindset of those within the firm and is a process more than a software solution.
Why do CRM projects fail?
Over half of all CRM projects fail. The foremost reason for this failure is mismatched expectations. The senior management often does not adequately educate the staff who will use the CRM system, on what to expect of the system. while a cRM solutions can do many things, it can’t solve everything.CRM is nothing but a group if interconnected processes to make your customer’s experience better. However not many get it. most organizations embark on CRM projects because it is the ‘in’ thing these days. Unless the management clearly states the problems faced within the organisation and articulates how CRM will alleviate those pain points, it will not be a success. So to make sure that your CRM project is not a failure.
Why Customers Leave
Great service and customer recommendations alone are not sufficient for relationships. If you give poor service you won’t have a relationship. And if you give great service, you might not have a relationship if you don’t take care of that relationship, knowing your customers’ preferences. It is essential to have a solid grasp of which factors in your business relationship with your customers are most important to them. Listen to your customers and then begin developing your CRM strategy because if you don’t satisfy your customers, they won’t come back. And remember:

Developing a mobile/desktop App, Ignore Tablet at your own risk…

Ignoring tablets could be the biggest mistake that you may do while building a mobile/desktop software. The above graph is self explanatory which shows the impact tablet on various usages of other devices. The biggest proof is the recent news which states that Apple iPad2 sales have already surpassed the iPad1 sales in less than a month of release. You may also be interested in  knowing the reason why people are so quickly shifting to tablets from other devices. Find below another pictorial analysis prepared by Nielsen to showcase the same.

The major reason for shifting to tablets as shown by graph is getting a good user experience because of the size along with the ease to carry as compared to a laptop.

Therefore in this rapid shift of technologies it is implicit that whatever software is built should also give user a good experience on tablets too.

New Age Technology, Multiplatform is the key….

With more and more smartphones and tablets releasing each day, apps are the rage in developers’ community. Therefore it becomes very important for you to make your product come out of this strong market competition. Apart from standardizing your product across  multiple platforms like Android, iOS, Windows etc, its important not to forget the four screen rule too. So what is a four screen rule exactly? As simple as  the name suggest it is nothing but the four type of devices that people use now days to receive and share information to the world. Lets look at them and there importance in the current business scenario.

1. Smartphone :- This is one of the top runners when it comes to usability among people. Smartphone is one thing that people always carry and use all 24 hrs a day. Use Sleeping App to sleep, Alert Apps to notify them even if they are asleep and alarm apps to wake them up. This is one medium which is growing its usage share day by day.

2. Tablets :- The regular laptops had introduced you to the significance of being able to bring your computer with you. And now, thanks to the fast advancement of technology, you can now have all the benefits you get from your desktop computers and regular laptops all in one compact and portable device known as a Tablet.

3. Laptop/Desktop :- Although laptop/desktop might be losing its sheen a bit but still there are a lot of scenarios where you cannot do without a desktop. So smartphone and tablets completely replacing desktop is still some time away and till then its important to a laptop interface for whatever you are developing

4. Television :- No one likes to watch a movie or an event on small screen. With google and  apple both now entering the TV with google and apple tv conveys that running apps and TV browsing is going to be very common in near future only.

Make a product keeping these 4 screens in mind and surely it is going to capture the minds of your customer.

If there is a Time to go mobile..Its Now!!

Its time to think “Mobile First”
Today people want the same breadth and depth of content, no matter what device they’re using. They want a consistent, reliable user experience. They don’t want to interact with your site one way at their desks, then learn a whole new way when they’re tablet-surfing on the couch, and then learn a third way when they’re roaming around with their phones. This easily suggest that going mobile is the order of the day to stay upbeat with the market.

Significance of tablets
Forrester did a survey of retailers and found that, on average, about 20% of holiday mobile traffic came via tablets, with some retailers reporting that more than half their mobile traffic came via tablets. But most “mobile-optimized” sites look terrible on tablets. If I’m using a tablet, I’ve got a big shiny screen. I want to see pictures and rich content. Therefore its not enough to optimize the product for mobile + desktop, tablet is also an equal contributor when it comes to people using the web.

Mobile OS to target
As per the current trends it is pretty important that your content is available on all the common mobile devices OSes. Therefore it is a no brainer that whatever you build should work on an iphone as well as majority of android devices. You can check the latest stats for more analysis and strategies on how should you go about targeting devices. The details on these are present at http://blog.hidtechs.com/2012/05/iphone-vs-android-stats-no-clear-winner.html
